Met

Metalarte, 2000

The day I presented the lamp to Carlos Riera of Metalarte, I brought a 1:10 scale model and a pencil-made drawing on the same scale on a DIN A4. The lamp seemed quite simple, but it later turned out to be technically complicated. A simple translucent methacrylate illuminated by a halogen from its base and, at the top, a much shorter metal cylinder of the same diameter with another halogen light source, which rotates and flexes to illuminate the translucent tube, either from above or by turning the "head" to use as a reading light.
